Guard'in was a game that I worked on with a my Classmate Tobias Hall in Unity. I did the modeling and textures. It is a first person shooter mixed with a tower defense game. The premise was that you water your trees (your towers) and defend your flower. Your weapon fired both fireballs and water depending on what button you click. Fire both harms the gnomes and your plants, while water makes your plants grow. Water was limited though, meaninmg you'd have to pick up a water tank item to recharge.
There were a lot of ideas we had that couldn't make it into the game, unfortunately.
Gnome types:
Spear Gnome: Made it into the game. Focuses on the flower. Red clothes.
Bow Gnome: Didn't make it into the game. Would have focused on the trees, making them a threat. Blue clothes.
Speed Gnome: Didn't make it in, would have rushed for the flower with great speed. Orange Clothes.
Flyer Gnome: Didn't make it into the game. Trees could not target it. White clothes with balloons.
Heavy Gnome: Didn't make it in. Was informed earlier, so it wasn't modeled out. Would have been bigger and tougher, requiring more hits. Yellow clothes.
Friendly Types:
Trees: Two types, weak and strong. Water the trees, they get stronger. Throw piencones at the gnomes. Four per game.
Flower: The item you need to defend. Even though it takes damage, you can heal it with water.
Water Tanks: Only one made it into the game as a power up. Originally the idea was the have tanks full of water that get emptier the more you use them and you would need to wait for them to be refilled. Instead, it is a collectable that instantly refills your water.
